Fort Ellis Fire/Rescue Volunteers

Fort Ellis Fire/Rescue is an all-volunteer department serving the Fort Ellis Fire Service Area southeast of Bozeman, Montana.

Apparatus

  • Engine 1-2 Fire Truck

    Engine 1-2

    Engine 1-2 is our structure fire engine. It carries 750 gallons of water with a 1,000-gallon-per-minute compressed air foam capable pump. It is a 2004 Pierce Saber four-wheel drive chassis and accommodates up to six firefighters.

  • Rescue 1-9 Fire Truck

    Rescue 1-9

    Rescue 1-9 is our first-out apparatus for almost all calls. It goes to motor vehicle accidents, medical calls, and structure fire calls. It carries five firefighters and contains all medical and rescue gear, including hydraulic tools (Jaws of Life) and low-angle rescue equipment. It has limited hazardous materials incident containment equipment and an air system to refill breathing apparatus bottles during structure fires. It is a Pierce medium rescue body on a 2008 International four-wheel drive cab and chassis.

  • Tender 1-5 Fire Truck

    Tender 1-5

    Tender 1-5 carries 2,500 gallons of water and is complemented by a 750-gallon per minute pump. Tender 1-5 was built in 2009 by Rosenbauer in South Dakota on an International chassis. It carries multiple hose configurations, SCBAs, and other firefighting equipment.

  • Command 1-8 Fire Truck

    Command 1-8

    Command 1-8 is our newest Command vehicle. It’s a 2024 Ford F-250 Super Crew Cab equipped to provide all Command functions. With three radios, reference materials, and room for Command staff, Command 1-8 is another first-out vehicle on most calls.

  • Command 1-7 Fire Truck

    Command 1-7

    Command 1-7 is a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Crew Cab pickup with a topper and integrated slide-out equipment drawer. This Command truck is what we call our “Swiss Army Knife” as it goes on many calls and needs to be versatile, agile, and well-equipped. The truck has room for five firefighters and handles the gamut from structure fires, wildland fires, medical, and rescue.

  • Brush 1-1 Wildland Truck

    Brush 1-1

    Brush 1-1 is our newest wildland brush engine, replacing our oldest (retired) brush engine. It is a 2022 Dodge Ram 5500 crew cab. It is outfitted with a DNRC Hybrid fire body, which has a multi-stage pump, 500-gallon water tank, hose reel, and tools needed to fight wildland/brush fires. The truck has room for five firefighters and is the first crew cab wildland brush engine in our fleet.

  • Brush 1-0 Wildland Truck

    Brush 1-0

    Brush 1-0 is a 2015 Ford F550. It has a 500-gallon water tank and fire pump and is primarily used for wildland fires.

  • Brush 1-3 Wildland Truck

    Brush 1-3

    Brush 1-3 is a Ford F450 with a state-supplied (DNRC) flatbed housing a 300-gallon tank and fire pump. It is primarily used for wildland fires.

  • Support 1-4 Fire Truck

    Support 1-4

    Support 1-4 is a 2009 International Workstar cab and chassis with a Scorpion attenuator and sign board. It is primarily used to help protect a scene and all emergency personnel and patients during a motor vehicle accident.

  • Support 1-6 Fire Truck

    Support 1-6

    Support 1-6 is a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 that provides critical support for motor vehicle accidents.
